VOTING ENDS APRIL 23
New York State has issued a Patient Portal Design Challenge and RDE Systems and partners have responded with MyHealthProfile, which grew out of a Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) grant. MyHealthProfile is the only submission in the Challenge that was built to serve People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Impact Marketing + Communications was responsible for filming the MyHealthProfile video that features the portal and was honored to support this important project.
MyHealthProfile has the ability to review information about multiple chronic conditions and those who may be in need of emergent care. It is also the only portal that has benefited from not only 20 years of health IT work but the evaluation and research component so unique to SPNS projects. MyHealthProfile has been well vetted among focus groups of PLWHA with health literacy in mind. Additionally, it has been tested among PLWHA and HIV providers to ensure it improves patient-provider communication. The portal also has mobile capabilities—something essential to helping keep young PLWHA in care!
The winning design of the Challenge will be used across the State of New York to improve patient access to medical information and to streamline communication with providers and will be rolled out alongside the Affordable Care Act. While the portal at this juncture is being rolled out across New York, voting is open nationwide.
